Full Job Description Job Title:
Engineering Technician Job Description As an Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Product Development Engineering Department. You will be involved in the design and fabrication of mechanical and electro-mechanical components, utilizing advanced machinery and design software. Responsibilities Perform CNC milling and utilize basic mechanical fixture and electro-mechanical design techniques. Adhere to machine shop policies and maintain a safe working environment. Interpret and read prints and schematics with a basic understanding. Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges effectively. Operate 3D printers, laser cutters, and other rapid prototype machines. Fabricate and assemble mechanical, electronic, or electro-mechanical parts, devices, fixtures, or equipment. Collaborate with engineers to set up various fixtures and handle prototyping requests. Provide feedback and support to engineers and the R D team. Use SolidWorks or similar programs to design and manipulate solid models for fabrication. Essential Skills Experience with CNC milling and machining (CNC & Conventional). Ability to support prototyping in a team-based manufacturing environment. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360. Familiarity with optical measurement equipment such as Keyence. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's degree in a related field. Industry certification or trade school training in a related field. Ability to lift at least 30 lbs. Experience maintaining tools and managing material inventory. Willingness to seek out new assignments and assume additional duties when necessary. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The role involves working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, predominantly supporting the Product Development Engineering Department. The core team consists of two members, and you will be working closely with them and the entire R D team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
