Advanced Manufacturing Job Summary The Blueprint Reading Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation for students preparing for careers in manufacturing, construction, industrial maintenance, welding, engineering technology, and related technical fields.
Job Duties:
  • Teach courses in blueprint reading, technical drawing interpretation, and related technical subjects.
  • Instruct students in reading and interpreting construction, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, and industrial drawings.
  • Teach the use of industry standards, symbols, tolerances, scales, dimensions, and specifications.
  • Develop and/or follow established course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials
  • Assess student learning through assignments, exams, and practical evaluations
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of equipment
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Drafting, or a closely related field. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant industry experience in manufacturing, construction, engineering, drafting, industrial maintenance, welding, or a related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge, experience, or evidence of a commitment to inclusivity and excellence in teaching methodologies that effectively engage our diverse student population. The candidate should have experience with instructional technologies, including presentation software and learning management systems (i.e., Blackboard). Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency with technology and written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
