Mechanical Designer /
Drafter Location:
Louisville, KY (Onsite)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Designer / Drafter to join a growing engineering team supporting the design and manufacturing of custom industrial equipment. This role works closely with project engineers to develop customer-specific designs, create approval drawings, and produce detailed fabrication packages for manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on design work in a collaborative, manufacturing-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the project engineering team to create custom equipment designs Develop customer approval drawings and incorporate feedback and revisions Create detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawing packages Design components and systems from scratch using CAD tools Perform calculations and ensure accuracy of drawings and models Follow company drafting standards and continuously build product knowledge Required Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field Experience with Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD Strong understanding of mechanical design, drafting, and manufacturing principles Solid foundation in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with SolidWorks Familiarity with manufacturing environments or industrial equipment Experience creating fabrication or shop drawings Proficiency in Excel or spreadsheet tools Ability to quickly learn new systems and product lines Work Environment Clean, modern, air-conditioned manufacturing facility Collaborative and team-oriented engineering environment Stable and growing workload with opportunity for training and development Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience 100% Employee-Owned (ESOP) — ownership is fully funded by the company Cash Balance Retirement Plan with annual company contributions and guaranteed growth Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off plus holiday pay Life insurance, disability coverage, and additional voluntary benefits Educational assistance and career advancement opportunities About the Company The organization specializes in the design and manufacture of large industrial processing equipment across a variety of industries. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
