Technical Service Drafter

Gem-Trim of Houma, LLC, is seeking a highly motivated individual interested in learning and developing drafting skills to support our manufacturing operations. This position involves creating detailed technical drawings of parts and assemblies from sketches, designs, and working drawings. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a drafting program or have already completed one. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic and a desire to grow in a technical role. We offer flexible scheduling for students and are open to both part-time and full-time applicants. Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from sketches, designs, and working drawings, including sectional views and standard specifications. Support the reverse engineering process. Make revisions to drawings to improve existing products. Determine the best views to represent the part geometry. Comply with all requirements of the Gem-Trim of Houma Quality Management System Manual, Quality Procedures Manual, and Department Operating Procedures.

Requirements:

Proficiency in AutoCAD required (Autodesk Inventor experience is a plus). Ability to prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings of parts and assemblies. Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy. Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. Capable of reviewing machine drawings and specifications to ensure proper fit and function. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to follow safety rules and company quality procedures. Willingness to perform other duties as directed by the Technical Service Manager.
