Shift Hours Job Description Responsibilities:
Work closely with engineers and senior designers to make drawing corrections and independently implement changes based on drawing redlines. Collaborate directly with engineering and manufacturing personnel to make real-time drawing updates as needed. Work independently while collaborating across multiple project teams in an environment where project scope and requirements may change frequently. Review drawings for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements. Develop CADD solid models at the part and assembly level using Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks. Create layout and detailed drawings for simple to moderately complex equipment and mechanisms, including the application of GD&T. Develop original designs for simple to moderately complex parts and assemblies while working with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability, maintainability, and proper assembly. Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, and detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks drafting techniques. Select commercial off-the-shelf electrical and mechanical components that meet specified performance requirements. Ensure designs meet quality standards and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
10-15 years of CAD design checking experience (within aerospace environment. Associate's degree in Design, Drafting, or a related engineering field, or equivalent work experience. Formal training in Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks solid modeling software. Proficiency with SolidWorks Routing, Sheet Metal, Weldment, and product data management. SolidWorks Advanced Parts and Advanced Assemblies certification is preferred. Familiarity with Military Standards and
ANSI 14.5
drafting standards, including GD&T. Familiarity with production, machining, and manufacturing processes. Working knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, including CNC machining centers, sheet metal, and welding fabrication. Mechanical design experience. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills when working with vendors and customers. Ability to work with managers and engineers to resolve challenging technical problems. Strong written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to obtain a security clearance and pass a drug test. US Citizenship OR US Green Card required for regulatory compliance. #
