Mechanical Drafter Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Drafter to join our dynamic team. This role is vital to the success of our organization, focusing on designing, overseeing current projects, and collaborating with sales and production teams. You will be responsible for assisting in various engineering projects, mechanical drafting, CNC programming/nesting, and ensuring processes, budgets, and timelines are effectively managed for successful project completion. Responsibilities Serve as an engineering design and technical expert to the engineering, sales, and production teams, as well as internal and external customers. Collaborate directly with the Engineering Manager and Engineering Draft Team to address and resolve issues posed by team members and staff from Sales and Operations. Verify and ensure the accuracy of work performed by the engineering draft team. Develop part drawings from structural drawings, prepare part drawings for nesting, and use nesting software to review and post nests for fabrication. Participate in research and development initiatives to identify new project opportunities and improve processes. Communicate and collaborate with the engineering team and production to ensure timely process flow of current projects. Assist fabrication in quickly resolving priorities and issues. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and perform additional tasks as needed. Essential Skills Mechanical design and drafting experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilkesboro, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
