Job Description

Position:
BIM SPECIALIST
Mowbray & Son Plumbing & Heating Inc, a legacy in the mechanical contracting industry in Minot, ND, is seeking a Building Information Modeling Specialist to work on the engineering team to produce Mechanical 3-D Design for Plumbing, Sheet Metal and HVAC projects. The BIM Specialist position is an in-person, full-time position. No remote work is offered at Mowbray & Son Inc. Candidate will work directly with design/construction team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.) Model HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems using Revit MEP Set up plot sheets, sections, and details for projects Import word, excel, pdf documents into Revit model as required Monitor and update project backgrounds Coordinate workload with engineers Produce accurate building models and drawing sets using engineering, detailing, and field markups Create 3D model out of existing 2D CAD plans as required Use Revit model to ensure proper mechanical clearances and access Assist internal design team with technical Revit support Help implement and manage drawing standards and maintain model quality Upload drawings and models to client websites and servers
Supporting Duties:
o Provide overflow support for engineering and project coordination team o Plot drawing sets as required o Assist engineers in maintaining libraries and templates
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:
This can be an entry level position. Any prior design/drafting experience is highly valued and desired. Any technical education/certification in drafting or degree in Mechanical Engineering with interest in mechanical design for Plumbing, Sheet Metal, HVAC systems.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency with the following programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
