Mechanical Designer - If you feel like this position is a great fit for you, please use this link to book time directly in my calendar for a virtual call: https://talentassistant.actalentservices.com/assistant/bookings/-ivLiNgI Job Description This position supports the mechanical development of water heaters, focusing on completing and refining mechanical designs, including heat exchanger concepts, to meet development timelines. Responsibilities Develop mechanical designs for water heaters and components in support of new product development. Create, modify, and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks. Manage design revisions and documentation control using SolidWorks PDM. Execute multiple design paths in parallel to support aggressive development timelines and evolving project requirements. Collaborate closely with project leadership to align designs with technical direction and program goals. Support design reviews and technical discussions by preparing models, drawings, and related documentation. Adhere to engineering standards, best practices, and internal design processes throughout development activities. Essential Skills Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design, including parts, assemblies, and drawings. Working knowledge of SolidWorks PDM for document control and version management. Strong understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles. Ability to manage multiple design tasks in a fast-paced development environment. Effective communication skills for collaboration with engineering and cross-functional teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology. Ability to update designs based on testing results and engineering feedback. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience working with configurations and large assemblies. Ability to adjust and design sheet metal using SolidWorks. Work Environment Located in Blauvelt, NY, the position operates on a 1st Shift schedule starting at 7:00am or 7:30am. The role offers a long-term contract with opportunities for project extensions or conversions. Employees accrue sick time and benefit from paid holidays. The work setting is dynamic, providing valuable hands-on skills in a manufacturing environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Blauvelt, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $33.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
