Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and technical drafting, with the ability to create and modify accurate plans for various building systems. This role requires precision, excellent communication skills, and the capability to support diverse projects from the design phase through construction. Responsibilities Create, revise, and maintain detailed technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD for commercial and residential projects. Draft accurate plans specifically for mechanical, sprinkler, plumbing, and fire alarm systems. Collaborate with electricians, mechanics, and project managers to translate field requirements and concepts into precise working blueprints. Update existing schematics to reflect "as-built" conditions based on field markups and project changes. Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and project specifications. Keep accurate records of drafting time, project files, and drawing revisions Requirements 2+ years of experience as a mechanical drafter or in a similar drafting role. High proficiency in AutoCAD software. Direct experience creating drawings for mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler, and fire alarm systems. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints. Familiarity with NYC Building, Electrical, and Mechanical Codes is highly preferred. Valid driver's license (if site visits are required to verify field conditions). Strong mechanical knowledge with a solid understanding of mechanical design principles, schematics development, and system integration. Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards for mechanical components and systems. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents accurately. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams; detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and clarity. Schedule Monday through
