Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities Include:
Prepare accurate shop drawings for commercial and industrial HVAC ductwork and/or mechanical piping systems. Develop layout, fabrication, spool, and installation drawings from contract documents and field conditions. Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection trades. Identify and resolve drawing conflicts and constructability issues. Incorporate field measurements, RFIs, and project revisions into drawing packages. Maintain accurate drawing documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field supervisors, and fabrication teams to support successful project execution.
Qualifications:
Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent experience in drafting, mechanical design, engineering technology, or a related field preferred. Experience preparing HVAC ductwork and/or mechanical piping shop drawings preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or similar mechanical detailing software. Working knowledge of HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping systems, fittings, equipment connections, supports, elevations, and construction standards. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
