POSITION SUMMARY

Process estimates from receipt of request for estimate through selection of material from CORE and existing approved materials for either plant, review of capabilities, establishment of estimate criteria, approval of work of other estimators, and submission to requestor. Explain deviations and exceptions to management. Process external bids for acquisition of new tools (dies, magnetic bodies and print plate bodies), repair/retooling of existing, or replacement of existing tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Estimator

• Review customer requirements to ensure adequacy. Contact Sales Service to obtain additional information.
• Initiate estimate into computer to assign quote number.
• Select raw material to meet performance requirements and delivery while driving for lowest cost, best inventory turn, and minimum obsolescence.
• Prepare cost by evaluating best machine width, master size and minimizing tooling cost. Verify plate and color changes against specifications and history.
• Complete Material Request and Outside Service form if applicable.
• Complete pricing for Art & Prep on new or changed jobs.
• Finalize estimate and communicate notes or issues to CSR or Sales.
• Complete Die Quote Form.
• Verify print cylinder inventory.
• Train other estimators.
• Identify system improvements and work with CIS.
• Support Business System goals and Quality Mission.
• Other duties as assigned. 2. Tooling
• Verify alignment of art against die quote.
• Verify cylinder inventory.
• Complete die orders.
• Order new tooling.
• Maintain die library.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong communication skills.
• Strong math background.
• Ability to visualize and solve problems.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Graphic design knowledge preferred.
• Two years flexographic manufacturing experience.
• Computer proficiency (Windows, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
