Uses computer aided design software. May create diagrams for products that include mechanical and electronic components, such as cars or computers, or prepare the diagrams used to install wiring and electrical equipment in buildings or in electrical distribution systems.

Job Description
LOD400 BIM
for mechanical and plumbing systems. + Work with General Contractor and other subcontractors to achieve spatial coordination of all trades. + Attend weekly coordination meetings, either onsite or virtually, to achieve spatial coordination of all trades. + Generate RFI's to be submitted to the design team when required. + Create detailed shop drawings for the purposes of fabrication and installation of associated trades. + Create and annotate shop drawings, hanger drawings, and sleeve drawings. + Create and export hanger and sleeve coordinates to be utilized by the robotic total station layout team for field layout. + Communicate with field personnel to ensure that fabrication and installation intent is clearly communicated on shop and spool drawings. + Mentor and train Junior VDC Specialists on the use of modelling and collaboration software. + Provide on the job training on the creation of fabrication and installation drawings and documents including bills of materials, pipe cut lists, fabrication labels, hanger labels, and reports. + Work with other team members to complete drawings and models as required to meet project schedules. + Maintain training and continued education for incumbent and team to continually improve accuracy and productivity. + Provide input to management regarding both hardware and software requirements to perform duties. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP, and Autodesk Navisworks. + Knowledge of BIM related software + 5 or more years of experience with installation or 3D modeling of mechanical or plumbing systems. + Prior experience working at a mechanical contractor (preferred) Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
