Electrical Drafter Job Description The primary function of this role is to create and modify drawings and models using REVIT software, contributing to the electrical drafting efforts within various projects. Responsibilities Perform routine assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer-aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques. Create quick actions utilizing the command language of the system to assist in drawing creation. Utilize mathematics knowledge in the preparation of drawings. Develop increased proficiency in system operation to enhance productivity and learn to use all software options. Review work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design. Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes, using conversion charts and calculators. Perform additional duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and NavisWorks. Experience in electrical drafting using 3D modeling software such as BIM. Ability to create Revit Worksheets and understand the Revit work-sharing process. Capable of receiving and transmitting documents on behalf of the design team. Fluency in 2D and 3D space and coordination with other trades. Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma/GED with drafting courses required; one to two years of technical training preferred. Working experience in electrical drafting or MEP preferred using Revit. General working knowledge of construction software such as Bluebeam. Ability to create simple parametric families, utilize shared parameters, create schedules, and complex geometry. Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in-house or on the job site. Experience in downloading drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites. Work Environment This position can be based in Oregon (Portland, Hillsboro), Boise, ID, or Phoenix, AZ, offering a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two days working from home.
