Job Description

Senior Piping Designer (OOJ - 43135) NPAworldwide Recruitment Network update Last updated: Feb/20/2026 Job Description As a Piping Designer, you will support a group of engineers and designers to develop 3D models and related construction drawings for industrial manufacturing facilities. The piping designer will be responsible for having a full understanding of the project's scope, overall schedule, deliverables, milestones, manhour budgets, industry standards, applicable codes, and procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Determine line count and estimated isometric quantities based on P&ID's.
  • Be knowledgeable of client procedures, project procedures, and specifications.
  • Identify and request information in the form of a 'Needs List' to maintain the schedule.
  • Utilize a 3D model (AVEVA E3D/Navisworks) review software to monitor design quality and progress.
  • Review and approve deliverables prior to issue.
  • Coordinate the design effort with other engineering and design disciplines.
  • Ensure deliverable verification procedures are followed.
  • Piping drawing checking and verification experience in the office and in the field is a plus.
  • Previous
AVEVA 3D
experience developing Piping Models, Pipe Supports, Equipment Models, Isometric and Orthographic Drawing extraction is a plus.
  • Develop general arrangements of plant facilities, structures and equipment considering safe maintenance and construction while interfacing with all engineering and design disciplines.
  • Field design experience with the capability to perform field walk downs using P&ID's, locating tie points dimensionally, and routing pipe through existing facilities.
Locate and identify pipe support types. Bring that back to the office to input the field data into an
AVEVA E3D
model.
  • Projects may utilize Laser Scanning.
Experience using Scans within
AVEVA E3D
is a plus.
  • Experience with executing projects within existing facilities with many obstructions and other design constraints.
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
  • Independently analyzes situations and data to determine the best course of action and makes positive and active contributions to assist the organization in achieving its key financial and growth goals.
  • Involved in high level technical interface discussions with clients and sub-contractors to determine the root cause of problems and develop effective solutions to solve them.
Qualifications
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • In general, performance of the job has the
Piping Designer:
E3D operating from an office location vs a project location so to oversee one or more projects at one time.
Piping Designer:
E3D will be subject to jobsite conditions, and therefore should be able to cope with and withstand these conditions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Candidates must have
E3D/PDMS
proficiency and a strong history of working with engineers & designers to produce complex construction drawings.
  • Associate's degree and a minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in the EPC industry is desired.
  • Expertise using AutoCAD and Navisworks is preferred. Candidates must have a strong orientation towards delivering projects within challenging budget & schedule parameters.
  • This role may require occasional overnight travel to client locations based on project requirements.
