Job Description

Mechanical Drafter Fair Manufacturing Inc
YANKTON, SD
Posted/Updated:
Today Job Description Mechanical Drafter - Agricultural Equipment Fair Manufacturing Inc. | Yankton, SD | Full-time | $50,000-$65,000 Fair Manufacturing Inc., a third-generation family-owned manufacturer of agricultural and industrial equipment, is looking for a Mechanical Drafter to join our engineering team. For over 60 years we've served farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals across the region — and this role will directly support the products we build every day. What you'll do You'll work alongside our Engineering team to develop detailed drawings, models, and documentation for new and existing agricultural and industrial equipment. That means creating and maintaining SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and drawings to production standards, updating documentation as designs evolve, and supporting the full product life cycle from early concept through manufacturing release. You'll also take on drafting projects independently, managing your own workload and delivering accurate, well-documented work on schedule. What we're looking for 2-5 years of mechanical drafting experience, ideally in agricultural, heavy equipment, or industrial manufacturing. Strong SolidWorks skills are required — you should be comfortable working with complex assemblies and producing clean, accurate drawings ready for the shop floor. Familiarity with agricultural equipment and how it's built and used in the field is a plus. We're looking for someone detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated who can work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with additional hours as needed.
Why Fair Manufacturing:
You'll be a core part of a small engineering team where your work has direct, visible impact on the products we ship. No getting lost in a large department — here you'll see your drawings go from screen to field. As a third-generation family business with over 60 years of history in agriculture, we offer real stability alongside the variety that comes from working across a broad range of equipment. If you take pride in clean, accurate drafting and want to work somewhere your skills actually matter, this is that place.
