🌟 2D Drafter - Industrial Process & Water Systems (AutoCAD Plant 3D) Contract-to-Hire | Stable Project Work | Growth Opportunity 🚀 About the Role Join a collaborative engineering team supporting industrial water and process system projects in a fast-paced EPC/design-build environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with P&IDs, piping layouts, and fabrication drawings , and wants to contribute to complex, real-world systems in industries like semiconductor, chemical, and water treatment . You'll play a key role in turning engineering concepts into high-quality, production-ready drawings , while working closely with engineers, designers, and fabrication teams. 🔧 What You'll Do Create and maintain P&IDs in AutoCAD Plant 3D based on engineering designs Develop 2D drawings including: General Arrangements (GA) Layouts, sections, and detailed views Contribute to fabrication drawings for piping, skids, and structural frames Update drawings with redlines, RFIs, vendor data, and as-builts Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and industry codes Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project teams, and fabricators Support submittals, IFC packages, and construction documentation Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and quality Maintain organized CAD files, revision tracking, and documentation control ✅ What You Bring (Core Requirements) 3-7 years of drafting experience in an industrial EPC or design-build environment Strong experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D (P&IDs required) Solid understanding of piping layouts and industrial drawing standards Ability to interpret PFDs, specifications, and engineering markups Experience working within CAD standards and structured project workflows Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously 💡 Nice-to-Have (Differentiators) Fabrication drawing experience ( piping, skids, frames, supports ) Exposure to UPW, water treatment, semiconductor, or chemical facilities Knowledge of isometrics, line lists, and BOM extraction Experience working with fabrication shops or construction teams 🎓 Education Associate's degree or technical training in Drafting, Design Technology, or similar (Equivalent hands-on experience is welcomed) ✨ Why You'll Want This Role 💼 Contract-to-hire with long-term potential 🏭 Work on real industrial systems (not just conceptual design) 🤝 Highly collaborative team environment 📈 Opportunity to grow into Designer or Project roles 📍 Minimal travel (local shop visits only) 🔧 Exposure to cutting-edge manufacturing/process industries Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.85/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
