(Woods Cross, Utah) Pipe Fabricating & Supply Co., a leader in fabrication for the industrial piping sector, is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Draftsperson to join our team at our Woods Cross, Utah facility. We are looking for a candidate with a strong work ethic, the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to continuously learn and grow.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will be tasked with generating precise fabrication drawings for pipe spools using our provided drafting software. This role requires interpreting various technical documents and collaborating closely with engineers, production teams, and fellow drafters to deliver accurate and on-time production drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Create detailed spool drawings for shop production using AutoCAD-based piping software. (SpoolCAD) Create detailed spool drawings for shop production using SpoolFAB (previously Acorn) drafting software. Interpret and review isometric drawings and supporting documentation, including specifications, line lists, support details, and engineering notes. Apply intermediate math skills to calculate cut lists, dimensions, slopes, offsets, and flange orientations. Develop a working knowledge of various piping components (fittings, flanges, etc.) and material classes (carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc.). Understand and document labor operations involved in the fabrication of pipe spools. Assist with administrative and support tasks during low production periods, such as filing, material takeoffs, bid support, and office organization. Eventually assist in quality control by checking drawings produced by fellow team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a related field, or 4+ years of relevant drafting experience. Previous experience using SpoolFAB / Acorn piping software would be very beneficial, as we anticipate switching drafting software's in the near future. Previous AutoCAD experience also beneficial. Prior experience in the piping, petrochemical, power, water, or general construction industries is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of experience in drafting or detailing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to quickly adapt to industry-specific software and tools. Strong communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and clarification. Willingness to collaborate and learn from experienced team members. Availability to work overtime when needed to meet production deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
