MECH BIM
Designer II is responsible for developing Building Information Models (BIM) for Mechanical Controls Systems supporting data center facilities. This role focuses on creating a dedicated BIM controls model that integrates with existing mechanical BIM content. The position works closely with the AWS BIM team and serves as the Controls point of contact (POC) for developing first-of-a-kind (FOAK) controls BIM models. Key Responsibilities Utilize Revit to design and develop BIM models for Mechanical Controls Systems in data center environments. Work independently and collaboratively within the Controls Design and MEP teams to deliver assigned tasks. Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers, consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors. Prepare and develop detailed Revit models for mechanical control systems. Develop, publish, and maintain construction documentation in a fast-paced environment to meet scheduled deliverables. Update and modify controls BIM models and construction documents following FOAK development. Assist in the creation and maintenance of regional BIM standards and templates. Participate in multi-discipline design coordination meetings, including clash detection and resolution. Support multiple concurrent projects across various geographic regions. Assist project teams with information exchange between internal and external stakeholders. Provide coordination support and respond to information requests during construction phases. Track, record, and report key project metrics to management. Qualifications 5+ years of design or engineering experience in Controls or Mechanical building systems for mission-critical facilities. 4+ years of experience using Revit to produce engineering BIM models and construction drawings. Strong working knowledge of mechanical controls systems. Practical understanding of applicable mechanical codes (IPC, UPC) and safety regulations. Additional Information This role is Controls-focused and responsible for developing a dedicated BIM controls model. While controls content currently exists as an overlay within mechanical BIM models, this position will lead the creation of a standalone FOAK controls BIM model
