• Contract Job Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the design and development of custom industrial equipment using SolidWorks .

This role will focus on creating detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for machinery and mechanical systems. This would be a 4-6 month long contract that could be extended. The ideal candidate will have experience designing components and assemblies for industrial equipment and manufacturing environments. Experience working with converting equipment or paper machinery is highly valued. This position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and aligned with project requirements. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Design Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation Modify existing designs to improve performance, manufacturability, and reliability Equipment & System Development Support the design of industrial machinery and mechanical systems Assist in developing machine layouts, frames, and mechanical subsystems Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams Support fabrication and assembly teams by answering technical questions Participate in design reviews and implement feedback from internal teams Manufacturing Support Ensure designs are practical and cost-effective to manufacture Assist with troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during builds Support prototype development and design improvements
