Job Description

Mechanical Designer Position Summary This role is responsible for creating new mechanical equipment designs, modifying existing designs, and verifying that all engineering outputs are accurate and valid for their specific applications. The position requires a heavy attention to detail and a collaborative mindset, working closely with Senior Project Engineers and Project Management to ensure accurate and timely project drawings and documentation.
Key Responsibilities Design Development:
Create equipment design solutions that meet specific application requirements and customer specifications.
Technical Documentation:
Develop comprehensive details and drawings to communicate designs to assembly staff and external fabrication vendors.
Materials Management:
Generate and manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for designed equipment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Interface with various departments—from Sales through Service—on a daily basis to ensure project alignment.
Project Oversight:
Review new projects with Sales and Controls Engineering to develop solid applications for quoting; participate actively in design review meetings.
Field Engagement:
Travel to facilities to take field measurements and discuss project technical details as required.
Continuous Improvement:
Assist the Engineering Manager in creating and maintaining engineering standards and procedures.
Technical Support:
Assist the Service department with engineering-related field issues or warranty work.
Requirements Education:
High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with AutoCAD . Experience with Inventor , SolidWorks , or other 3D design software.
Background:
• Demonstrated mechanical background. Hands-on fabrication or assembly experience (either professional or via high-level hobby/personal projects). Experience with OEM equipment or conveyor design is a significant plus.
Soft Skills:
• Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively within strict time constraints. Strong work ethic and a desire for long-term career growth. Preferred Qualifications Specific experience with AutoCAD 3D (Inventor) . Understanding of various manufacturing processes as they relate to material handling and product movement.
Pay:
$24.00 - $30.00 per hour
