Job DescriptionAbout the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and hands-on Mechatronics Engineer to support the development, integration, and maintenance of advanced robotic and automation systems used in proprietary oligonucleotide synthesis and biotech manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across mechanical, electrical, controls, and automation disciplines in a fast-paced R D and manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, assembly, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of robotic systems, automated equipment, and electromechanical devices that support DNA/RNA synthesis operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain automated electromechanical and robotic systemsSupport proprietary oligonucleotide synthesis robotic systems and automated manufacturing platformsPerform robotic system assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshootingDevelop mechanical and electrical designs using SolidWorksCreate and maintain electrical schematics, wiring layouts, mechanical assemblies, and BOMsIntegrate sensors, motors, actuators, pneumatic systems, motion controls, PLCs, and embedded controllersAssist in prototype development, equipment upgrades, and process automation initiativesSupport installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair of automation equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in manufacturing and laboratory environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, process engineering, software, and R D teamsPrepare technical documentation, SOPs, assembly instructions, and engineering reportsSupport continuous improvement and scale-up activities for automated synthesis systemQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related field1-5 years of industry experience in automation, robotics, mechatronics, or related engineering fieldsExperience with SolidWorks for both mechanical and electrical designKnowledge of automation systems, robotics, and motion control systemsUnderstanding of sensors, actuators, pneumatics, motor controls, and embedded systemsHands-on experience with equipment assembly, integration, and troubleshootingStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with industrial robotic systems and robotic assemblyExperience supporting biotech, life science, or laboratory automation equipmentFamiliarity with machine vision systems and smart manufacturing technologiesExperience with embedded controllers and microcontrollersWork Environment Hands-on engineering role supporting both laboratory and manufacturing operationsFast-paced biotech manufacturing environment operating multiple shiftsOpportunity to work on cutting-edge robotic automation systems for DNA/RNA synthesisCollaborative and innovation-driven engineering environmentExposure to advanced automation, robotics, and biotech manufacturing technologies
