Position Summary Munro is seeking highly motivated engineering graduates who are eager to accelerate their careers through hands-on technical consulting work. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with real products, real customer challenges, and experienced industry experts from day one. Unlike traditional entry-level engineering positions that focus on a single product or discipline, Associate Consulting Engineers gain broad exposure across industries, technologies, and engineering functions. You will help analyze products, identify improvement opportunities, evaluate manufacturing processes, and develop recommendations that influence engineering and business decisions. This position is ideal for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys solving technical problems, and wants to quickly develop both engineering and consulting skills. Why This Role Is Different As an Associate Consulting Engineer, you will gain early exposure to: Product teardowns and competitive benchmarking Cost analysis and value engineering Manufacturing and assembly processes Product design evaluation and improvement Customer-facing engineering consulting Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and leadership teams You will have the opportunity to: Work directly with physical products and hardware Participate in teardown and benchmarking activities Analyze engineering data, bills of material, and manufacturing processes Support customer workshops and technical reviews Learn from experienced Munro consultants and industry experts Present technical findings and recommendations Develop leadership and project management skills early in your career Key Responsibilities Support technical analysis on customer consulting projects Participate in product teardowns, benchmarking studies, and engineering evaluations Analyze product designs, manufacturing methods, and cost structures Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce cost, improve manufacturability, enhance quality, and improve product performance Review engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical documentation Develop reports, presentations, and technical summaries Support customer meetings, workshops, and project reviews Collaborate with team members across engineering, manufacturing, costing, and project management disciplines Translate technical findings into clear and actionable recommendations Ideal Candidate Profile You are likely a strong fit if you: Recently graduated or will graduate soon with an engineering degree Enjoy understanding how products work and how they are made Have a strong curiosity about design, manufacturing, and technology Like solving practical engineering problems Are comfortable learning new technologies and industries quickly Take initiative and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment Communicate technical ideas clearly to different audiences Want exposure to both engineering and business decision-making Aspire to grow into technical leadership, project management, or consulting roles Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree (or upcoming graduation) in: Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Mechatronics Engineering Industrial Engineering Or a related technical discipline Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Willingness to travel approximately 10-15% Preferred but Not Required Internship, co-op, project, research, Formula SAE, Baja SAE, robotics, or hands-on experience in any of the following areas: Automotive systems Electric vehicles and battery systems Mechanical design Manufacturing engineering Product development Robotics and automation Cost analysis Teardown and benchmarking CAD and engineering tools Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Value engineering Growth & Development Munro is committed to developing future engineering and consulting leaders.
