Job Description
Description The Role The Project Launch Controls Engineer will be responsible for tasks and work throughout the implementation, execution, debug, runoff, and PPAP phase of the Project Launch Programs. Additional tasks will include providing a robust system within the criteria of BOP/BOE requirements, Coordinate activity with IT, plant facility controls, and multiple program controls teams for successful site integration and provide technical direction over support personnel, including OEM's, and installation trades.
What You'll Do:
(Responsibilities) Reviews and approves electrical and pneumatic equipment designs, ensuring use of approved components Ensures compliance with global controls specifications through use of the established checklists Conducts equipment runoffs on OEM floor Supports plant floor equipment installation Completes plant floor debug and runoff, following controls open issues to resolution Establishes system to track periodic backup of critical equipment programs Performs controls activities related to implementation of PM&C and Andon Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of the final customer Works closely with multi-disciplined teams to understand functional requirements, contribute to generation of innovative ideas, develop project plans and implement appropriate solutions Communicates information to internal customers, quickly finds common ground with peers and solves problems for the good of the business Stays abreast of new technology, competitive products and latest techniques Follow all safe operating practices The ability to travel domestically and internationally as necessary. Able to work 2nd and 3rd shifts as necessary to support and train. Support legacy programs when as needed (weekends if necessary). Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in machining or assembly controls Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical, electrical and IT systems Demonstrated ability to problem solve Experience in troubleshooting production equipment Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software packages Highly skilled in common assembly controls related topics - machine logic, robots, safety circuits, IT integration, etc. Experience with Rockwell Automation, Siemens What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) GM Global Common Controls Architecture preferred GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
