Job Description
Process Engineer (Mining) This position requires a motivated and technically skilled Process Engineer (Mining) to support our mining operations by optimizing process performance, improving plant efficiency, and ensuring safe and sustainable processing practices. This role plays a key part in bridging mining, geology, and plant operations to deliver high-quality product outcomes. This position requires a champion of a strong safety culture and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities TechnicalOperational Support Provide process engineering support to mining operations to ensure efficient and safe mineral processing Collaborate with Mine Manager, Mine Engineer, Geologist, and other stakeholders to define short-term processing requirements Analyze mineralogical data and recommend process adjustments or additional sampling/testing Ensure product quality meets customer specifications in coordination with technical teams Plant PerformanceOptimization Monitor and review plant performance, identifying opportunities for improvement Conduct process audits, surveys, and performance evaluations Optimize process systems, including: Pump and pipeline design Materials handling systems Process water balance and conservation Maintain process instrumentation accuracy and reliability Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend improvements ProjectContinuous Improvement Contribute to plant design modifications and process improvements Participate in cross-functional project teams to drive operational excellence Assist in the development of innovative processing solutions PlanningCollaboration Partner with planning teams to support development of new mining sites Provide technical training and guidance to operations personnel Promote safe work practices among employees and contractors QualificationsExperience Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or related field Experience in mineral sands, mining, or heavy industry processing environments preferred Strong understanding of mineral processing principles and plant operations Experience with process optimization, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and stakeholder engagement Ability to work cross-functionally and influence outcomes Project management and organizational skills Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship
