00 (DOE) We are seeking a certified and experienced NDT Inspector specializing in Eddy Current (ECT), Magnetic Particle (MT) and Liquid Penetrant (PT) testing for our FAA-certified Aerospace MRO facility. The successful candidate will perform inspections on a variety of aircraft components and assemblies to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and internal quality standards. This role is critical to maintaining flight safety and airworthiness of overhauled and repaired aerospace components.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Level II Magnetic Particle and Penetrant inspections on aircraft components in accordance with FAA, OEM, and customer requirements.
  • Follow established procedures compliant with
NAS 410, ASTM E1444, ASTM
E1417, and internal process specifications.
  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment; ensure proper handling and documentation of test media.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results to identify surface and near-surface discontinuities, such as cracks, laps, seams, porosity, or other defects.
  • Complete detailed and accurate inspection reports, logs, and traceability documentation to support FAA and NADCAP requirements.
  • Support FAA Return-to-Service documentation and participate in audits (FAA, NADCAP, customer).
  • Maintain equipment, test stations, and ensure compliance with calibration and expiration tracking for materials.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and hazardous materials handling procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with Quality, Inspection, and Operations to address non-conformances and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain personal NDT certifications and training logs in accordance with the company's written practice and NAS 410 requirements.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or formal NDT training preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in aerospace NDT, specifically in a repair station or MRO environment.
  • Eddy Current testing and inspection experience
  • Current Level II certification in Magnetic Particle and Penetrant Testing per NAS 410 or equivalent; must provide documented OJT and classroom training hours.
  • Strong working knowledge of aerospace materials, surface conditions, and component geometries (e.g., landing gear, actuators).
  • Must pass annual vision exams, Jaeger and color tests, and periodic recertification as required.
  • Proficient in interpreting OEM manuals, technical drawings, and overhaul manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy, especially under regulatory oversight.
  • Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR requirements (if applicable).
  • Experience with NADCAP-accredited NDT processes is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with
FAA 14 CFR
Part 145 Repair Station environment.
  • Experience with additional methods (e.g., Eddy Current, Ultrasonic) or willingness to cross-train.
  • Prior participation in FAA, NADCAP, or OEM audits.
