They use hand-held tools such as torches and must be knowledgeable in a variety of brazing techniques and metals. They must also be able to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams and have a good eye for detail. They must also be able to work safely and follow all safety procedures. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Read and understand piping diagrams to assemble and braze refrigeration units
• Cut and measure to specifications to braze for units
• Assemble refrigeration units per engineering drawings
• Setting up and assembling parts: Preparing parts for brazing operations

Brazing:

Using a torch to heat metal ends until they melt and join

Inspecting:

Ensuring that the brazed product meets quality standards and is free of leaks

• Working with quality control: Working with inspectors on parts that don't meet standards
• Maintaining safety: Following safety guidelines and wearing required personal protective equipment
• Applying coatings: Applying coatings to parts to protect against corrosion and reduce wear
