at Chicago Magnesium Casting Co. in
Blue Island, Illinois, United States Job Description Summary:
Work with the Responsible Level III to control NDT processes within the Company's Aluminum and Magnesium sand casting foundry. Problem solving with engineering and customers as needed to resolve quality issues. Test and maintain internal personnel certifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer quality issues and questions (referencing Specifications, Blueprints, etc.) Resolve NDT issues (questionable acceptance/rejection) Ensure certifications are correct and up to date Attend MRB meetings as needed Update radiographic and penetrant methods with new technology Revise radiographic techniques and ensure new exposure parameters are correct Be able to learn equipment and calibration requirements, process controls, etc. Train and maintain NDT personnel certifications internally Review film usage on current techniques for coverage or over coverage and give final approval Write work instructions for Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection when required by customer Check equipment for calibration requirements and send out for calibration when needed in FPI and X-ray Attend process improvement meetings as needed (Inspection improvement, front frame, internal auditor) Ensure the departments (X-ray, FPI, and Welding) conform to NADCAP and customer requirements Effectively communicate with management and customers regarding NDT processes Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's Degree preferred Minimum 5 years of Aerospace NDT experience or 10 years of other industry NDT experience. Casting experience preferred. Must be trained and certified with the ability to maintain
ASNT/NAS 410
Level III NDT certification in RT (CR, DR, and Film) and
PT. ASNT
certification in same preferred. Must be able to pass a company general, specific, and practical examination in each method.
