Job Duties:
Conducts classroom and hand-on training in welding and fit-up techniques. Also assists in onboarding and skill assessment of new welders Evaluates welders' skill levels and identifies additional training needed Develops and updates training materials, weld procedures and testing protocols Provides guidance on safe weld practices and related OSHA regulations Monitors welder training progress and maintains accurate training records Submits records to Human Resources Teaches proper weld self-inspection and interpretation of blueprints and weld symbols Stays current on industry best practices and certification standards (e.g.
AWS, ASME, BTH
) Trains employees on proper use and maintenance of welding equipment Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Reports defective tools and equipment. Complies with all safety rules and regulations
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent Technical certification or associates degree preferred
Minimum Work Experience:
Five years of experience in welding (MIF, TIG, Stick) with demonstrated knowledge and expertise AWS Certified Welding Educator (CWE) a plus
Minimum Skill Requirements:
Ability to guide and mentor welders of all levels Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints Knowledge of welding codes, safety standards, and inspection procedures Strong attention to detail and quality Proven mastery of weld processes Certification on crane use Forklift certification
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand. The employee occasionally must bend; reach overhead; crouch; kneel; push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds; and talk and listen
