Brazing Technician responsible for precision metal joining, joint inspection, heat control, cleaning, and equipment operation using torch, induction, and furnace brazing processes. Job Requirements Experience with torch, induction, and/or furnace brazing. Knowledge of flux and filler material selection. Experience brazing varied base metals. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, travelers, and work instructions. Ability to interpret dimensional callouts and manufacturing specifications. Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related inspection tools. Knowledge of brazing heat control, including dwell time, timing, and cooling requirements. Ability to control heat input to prevent distortion or annealing of base metals. Experience inspecting brazed joints for fillet quality, penetration, alignment, and appearance. Experience reworking voids, incomplete fills, and other brazing defects. Experience performing pre-braze and post-braze cleaning. Experience removing flux and preparing parts for downstream machining or finishing. Experience operating torches, induction units, regulators, and related brazing equipment. Knowledge of safety requirements for open flames, compressed gases, fuel gases, hot metal, and ventilation. Preferred Skills 2+ years of brazing, soldering, welding, or related metal-joining experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working with tooling, fixtures, precision parts, or similar metal components. ERP system experience. Experience recording production activity, inventory transactions, or job completion in an ERP system. Experience performing routine maintenance checks on brazing equipment. Job Responsibilities Perform torch, induction, and furnace brazing operations according to manufacturing requirements. Select appropriate fluxes and filler materials based on base metals and process specifications. Set and control brazing temperatures, dwell times, heating cycles, and cooling conditions. Read and follow blueprints, travelers, work instructions, and dimensional requirements. Set up and operate torches, induction systems, regulators, and related equipment. Inspect brazed joints for penetration, fillet quality, alignment, appearance, and dimensional compliance. Measure completed parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment. Rework brazed joints containing voids, incomplete fills, or other defects. Perform pre-braze cleaning and surface preparation. Remove flux and clean parts following brazing operations. Prepare completed components for downstream machining, finishing, or assembly. Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance checks. Record production activity, inventory usage, and job completion in applicable manufacturing systems. Follow applicable procedures for compressed gases, open flames, hot materials, and ventilation.
