Overview
An A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) Technician in a Part 145 Repair Station performs preventive and non?preventive maintenance, inspections, alterations, and repairs on aircraft, engines, and related systems in strict compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on airframes, engines, propellers, wings, tails, and other aircraft systems
Inspect for defects such as cracks, corrosion, or wear; replace or repair defective parts; and install new components as needed
Operate and test aircraft systems (engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, avionics, landing gear) to ensure proper function
Consult FAA and manufacturer maintenance manuals to determine correct procedures, specifications, and replacement parts
Repair sheet metal, composite structures, and related assemblies
Identify and resolve mechanical problems based on visual inspections or pilot/crew reports
Collaborate with airframe, powerplant, and other maintenance personnel to complete repairs
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, inspections, and parts used, ensuring compliance with FAA Part 145 recordkeeping requirements
Apply corrosion prevention and corrective treatments as required
Follow strict quality control and safety procedures, including hazardous materials handling and FOD prevention
Skills & Abilities
Strong technical aptitude and mechanical knowledge of aircraft systems and components
Proficiency with tools, testing equipment, and electronic maintenance manuals
Ability to read and follow complex technical instructions and diagrams .
Detail Oriented, with superior workmanship and accuracy
Ability to work unsupervised, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks
Strong communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with team members
Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures
Education & Experience
FAA A&P certificate (Airframe and/or Powerplant) is preferred but not always required
Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station or 135 operator environment is highly valued
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of FAR Parts 145, 135, 91, 43, and 65 is required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, kneel, and work in awkward positions
Lifting and handling of heavy components and tools.
Exposure to aircraft noise, fumes, and hazardous materials.
