A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Job Description

NDT Trainee will assist the UT Level II Technician with the Ultrasonic Testing activities while gaining experience and knowledge.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
Assist technicians with setting up and tearing down of equipment Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrations, and overall upkeep of equipment and facilities. Assist with proper documentation and reports on services provided. Learn and abide by company policies and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS
In-house plant/shop atmosphere. Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and clients. Working in plant and/or shop areas around other NDT inspection equipment and Forklifts moving parts around can cause elevated noise levels. Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
US Citizenship required due to contractual obligations High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications is preferred. Proven ability to follow precise directions and procedures. Proven ability to adapt to an ever-changing schedule.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
Working in a warehouse environment production machinery with extreme noise levels. Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection. Ability to frequently lift and carry 55 pounds. #
