1 Pittsburgh, PA Job Details 14 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Customer communication Driver's License Full Job Description Summary We are seeking a highly skilled NDT Inspector / Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform welding inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and quality assurance activities at customer sites and fabrication facilities. This position requires extensive travel (primarily regional with some overnight travel) and includes the use of a company-provided vehicle. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, customer specifications, and company quality requirements while representing the company professionally in the field. Key Responsibilities Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections using methods such as: Visual Testing (VT) Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Radiographic Testing (RT) (preferred) Conduct welding inspections in accordance with AWS, ASME, API, and customer specifications. Travel to customer locations, fabrication shops, and field sites to perform inspections and quality assurance activities. Safely operate a company-provided vehicle while traveling to assigned job sites. Interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) records. Review fabrication drawings, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and quality documentation. Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate inspection records. Identify weld and dimensional errors and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, customer requirements, and quality management systems. Coordinate with production, engineering, quality personnel, customers, and third-party inspectors. Participate in customer audits and third-party inspection Required Qualifications Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (Preferred). Level II certification in one or more NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT) in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or NAS-410. High school diploma or technical degree in Welding, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding inspection and NDT. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability and willingness to travel 75-90% of the time, including overnight travel as required Preferred Qualifications Experience with ASME Section

Knowledge of

quality systems. Experience in heavy fabrication, structural steel, pressure vessels, or pipeline construction. Strong understanding of welding processes including GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and SAW. Skills Strong knowledge of welding codes, specifications, and NDT standards. Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inspection reporting software. Ability to work independently in both field and shop environments. Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage travel schedules and multiple inspection assignments Certifications AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
