The Non-Destructive Inspector (NDI) Evaluator and Tester will evaluate, recommend, NDI parameters for implementation of changes to existing and new processes. Additional Responsibilities Include, but are notLimited To:
Serve as an NDI level II inspector on repaired, overhauled, re-worked, manufactured and investigative aircraft and aircraft related components. Will report all inspectionfindings IAW ALC policy and report to IOD shop 136 for daily tasking. All briefs, reports, documents, recommendations, evaluations, and activities prior to implementation shall go through the Government NDI Program Manager for approval. Selects appropriate Non-Destructive Testing method and inspects specified or questionable areas on assembled or disassembled aircraft frames, engines and related components. This also encompasses parts in various stages of fabrication or repair.Upon discovery of a discontinuity:
evaluate and interpret indications extent of cracking, damage, or corrosion to determine a suitable solution. Initiate necessary documented reports of findings for corrective action by concerned Product Line. Perform follow-up inspections of areas reworked because of NDT findings to ensure adequacy of corrective action taken. Perform inspections per NDI technical directives in the form of but not limited to:- TCTO's
- MPCs
- AFTO's
- Military Standard Specifications
- ALC specifications and instructions Coordinate with Industrial Operations engineering, and NDI personnel instances of inadequate documentation of testing methods and techniques, prior to commencing work.
Experience Requirements:
The NDI Evaluator and Tester shall have all of the following qualifications: Physical eye examination annually IAW National Aerospace Standard (NAS- 410.
- CP-105/106 Level I & IIcurriculum.
