Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction. Obtain experience under direct observation of a Level 2 or Level 3 in the same method. Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Required Skills:
Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals The ability to use basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc. The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions Meet minimal requirement on Wyman Gordon internal assessments Experience & Education Minimal 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree GED or High School diploma Successfully pass Vision, Written and Practical examinations for Level 1 or 2 in at least one method within a 12-month period.
Working Conditions:
Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment Constant exposure to moderate noise Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces. Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours. Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials. Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane. Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level. Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery. Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment. Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
