A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Job Description

Duties
  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
  • Assist NDT Technicians in the calibration of NDT equipment.
  • Assist NDT Technicians conduct test to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection.
  • Record results of inspections.
  • Assist Technicians in performing NDT procedures and other operations.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
