A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

For more than 50 years, AEC has innovated advanced composite solutions for defense and commercial industries in applications from large commercial transports to fighter jets and commercial and military rotorcraft. Our composite design and fabrication expertise can be found on many commercial platforms such as Boeing's 7-series family, the Airbus A380 aircraft as well as Sikorsky S-76 helicopter. For defense programs, AEC provides a wide range of products including complete structural assemblies, flight critical components, primary and secondary structural elements for platforms such as the F-35 Lightning II, the CH-53K Heavy-lift Helicopter and the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM). Inspects and approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work. Performs inspection duties utilizing engineering drawings, work instructions, technical specifications, QA procedures and other related documents. Inspected aircraft components to assure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and general aircraft standards. Rechecks work after adjustment or repair. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Maintains necessary inspection logs and writes inspection reports. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations
