Position Summary MHI is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist (NDT) to perform quality assurance inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) during ship repair operations. This role ensures work meets NAVSEA specifications, technical requirements, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Perform QA inspections of welding, structural, and piping work. Conduct NDT inspections using Visual (VT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT). Review work for compliance with specifications, blueprints, and procedures. Document inspection results and prepare QA/NDT reports. Coordinate required inspection checkpoints and support production teams. Verify equipment calibration and maintain inspection equipment. Observe subcontractor inspections and review procedures for compliance. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of related technical experience. Documentation supporting Level II qualifications in at least three NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, or UT). Knowledge of shipboard structures, welding processes, blueprint interpretation, and QA systems. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office). ASNT certification and ship repair industry experience preferred. Why MHI?
