A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Job Description
Job Description The NDT Inspector C in the Quality Department performs NDT inspections on turbines (steam and gas) and generator components. Basic job functions include but are not limited to: Participates in safety training and ensures personal safety as well as safety of co-workers Performs duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Leadman Performs NDT inspections within the factory and on site (if assigned to site work) Participates in work force development to develop skills and abilities Conducts Hardness Testing Conducts Magnetic Particle Inspections Conducts Dye Penetrant Inspections Prepares NCRs Perform necessary steps to complete I&T Plans Communicates clearly and professionally with others Essential Functions The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following: Review safety requirement for magnetic particle inspections Perform magnetic particle inspection of generator and turbine rotors, reporting requirements, steam turbine casings, identification of fusion lines, vane carrier, and blades Perform hot magnetic particle inspection Review safety requirement for dye penetrant inspections Run dye penetrant line Perform dye penetrant Inspection - removed blades, retaining rings and faceplates, installed blades, generator dovetails, vane carriers, wedges, and hardware Review safety requirement for Ultrasonic Inspections Set up and operate hardness testing-Equotip and Clark Demonstrate high quality communication and work skills per Behavioral Skills section of Skills Matrix Perform other functions as assigned For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the base pay for this position is will be $23/hr. - $25/hr. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
