Job Description

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Qualifications:
For the
GS-0840-12/GS-1306-12 IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
(see Education section), your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience with nuclear engineering/health physics concepts, principles, practices, and administrative techniques, used to plan and carry out an assigned Shipyard Radiation Health program.
  • Experience recognizing the effects of the nuclear environment upon equipment, systems, materials, and personnel.
  • Experience with the use of quantitative measurement and engineering techniques, for evaluating the magnitude of radiation health conditions.
  • Experience planning, developing, and carrying out a program/project, determining the approaches to be taken, priorities, deadlines, and anticipated complex problem areas.
For the
GS-0840-11/GS-1306-11 IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
(see Education section), your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience developing, planning, organizing, and preparing project designs and protocols for research and development work on methods, techniques, work processes, equipment and instrumentation assuring compliance with existing regulations.
  • Experience coordinating, monitoring, reviewing, and integrating efforts of engineers, consultants, physicists, mechanics and others.
  • Experience furnishing technical advice and assistance to managers, supervisors, employees, and other specialists on the assigned radiation health program and on specific problems encountered.
  • Experience understanding of the effects of the nuclear environment upon equipment, systems materials, and personnel.
For the
GS-0840-09/GS-1306-09 IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
(see Education section ), your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience planning and carrying out an assigned radiation health program(s) that entails the recognition and evaluation of a wide variety of radiologically initiated occupational health hazards.
  • Experience performing technical Health Physics studies in support of a Radiation Health Program.
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing, and integrating efforts of engineers, consultants, physicists, mechanics and others.
  • Experience assisting with developing criteria for radiation health standards for a variety of potentially hazardous conditions.
For the
GS-0840-07/GS-1306-07 IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
(see Education section), your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience planning and preparing project designs and protocols for research and development work on methods, techniques, and work processes assuring compliance with existing regulations.
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing, and integrating efforts of engineers, consultants, health physicists, mechanics and others.
  • Experience using engineering and health physics sampling techniques and instrumentation.
  • Experience writing technical/scientific reports.
For the
GS-0840-05/GS-1306-05 IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
(see Education section), your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience using engineering and health physics sampling techniques and instrumentation.
  • Experience writing technical/scientific reports.
  • Experience assisting with investigating unexpected results of instrumentation.
