Responsibilities Evaluate mechanical systems and designs for safety risks and compliance gaps with OSHA and other relevant standards. Identify and define solutions for machine guarding, access control, and hazard mitigation across equipment and systems. Design, implement, and validate safety improvements, not just identify or document issues. Review and update existing risk assessment documentation to reflect current conditions and improvements. Communicate safety findings, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. Essential Skills 3 years of experience in safety engineering, industrial safety, or a closely related field. Strong knowledge of ISO 13849 and OSHA standards required Hands-on experience implementing safety solutions, including designing and installing safeguards, rather than performing audits only. Experience with machine guarding, machine safety, safety railings, and other physical protection systems. Ability to translate safety requirements and regulations into practical design changes and engineering solutions. Demonstrated ability to work in a hands-on, solutions-oriented capacity, focusing on implementing fixes rather than only flagging issues. Exposure to mechanical systems and equipment design, including understanding of how safety features integrate with mechanical components. Additional Skills & Qualifications Additional safety-related certifications such as OSHA or MSHA credentials. Prior experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or field engineering settings. Experience reviewing and maintaining risk assessment documentation. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
