Our focus is toward the research and development of laser-based remote sensing systems - e.g., lasers, photonics, lidar, etc. Our staff have extensive experience in a wide range of business settings—from national laboratories to high-tech startups to large aerospace companies. Job Overview:
The position supports engineers and scientists in hands-on development of laser and laser-based remote sensing systems. You will contribute directly to ongoing research and product development by supporting testing, data analysis, and system design. This role requires someone who is a quick learner, highly motivated, able to work individually and with a team who possesses excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Support research and laboratory experiments
  • Assist in aligning, characterizing and troubleshooting laser setups
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists on documentation
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safe lab practices
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a BS in optical sciences, optical engineering, physics, or a related field
  • Current minimum
GPA:
3.2
  • Experience with optical laboratory setups & alignment techniques
  • Familiarity with lab instruments such as power meters, spectrometers and oscilloscopes
  • Strong interest in laser systems, optical design and experimental physics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (i.
e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Desired:
  • Some programming experience such as LabView, MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of optical design software like Zemax
  • Coursework in optics and/or lasers What's in It for
