The position supports engineers and scientists in hands-on development of laser and laser-based remote sensing systems. You will contribute directly to ongoing research and product development by supporting testing, data analysis, and system design. This role requires someone who is a quick learner, highly motivated, able to work individually and with a team who possesses excellent communication skills.Responsibilities:
- Support research and laboratory experiments
- Assist in aligning, characterizing and troubleshooting laser setups
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists on documentation
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safe lab practices
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a BS in optical sciences, optical engineering, physics, or a related field
- Current minimum
GPA:
3.2- Experience with optical laboratory setups & alignment techniques
- Familiarity with lab instruments such as power meters, spectrometers and oscilloscopes
- Strong interest in laser systems, optical design and experimental physics
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (i.
Desired:
- Some programming experience such as LabView, MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools
- Knowledge of optical design software like Zemax
