Help Bring Innovative Medical Devices from Concept to Production Principal Manufacturing Engineer -
Laser Processing & Advanced Manufacturing Location:

We're looking for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer who is passionate about laser processing technology and enjoys tackling difficult technical problems, developing new manufacturing capabilities, and helping customers turn ideas into reality. You'll serve as the organization's go-to expert for laser processing, helping shape our technical strategy, support new business opportunities, and solve challenging manufacturing problems across our operations. What You'll Be Doing As our laser processing expert, you'll work at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and business growth. You'll partner with customers and internal teams to develop manufacturing solutions for new opportunities, helping determine how products can be successfully manufactured and scaled. You'll evaluate technical requirements, recommend manufacturing approaches, identify equipment needs, and provide key input that helps us win new business. Once projects are awarded, you'll remain involved as a technical leader-supporting process development, troubleshooting, validation activities, equipment implementation, and customer discussions as needed. You'll also play a key role in advancing our laser processing capabilities across the organization by evaluating new technologies, establishing best practices, mentoring engineers, and helping our manufacturing sites solve complex technical challenges. What Makes This Role Unique You'll have a direct impact on business growth by helping secure and launch new customer programs. You'll influence the future direction of laser processing technology across the company. You'll work on a wide variety of products, technologies, and manufacturing challenges. You'll collaborate with engineering and operations teams across multiple facilities. You'll have the opportunity to introduce new technologies and capabilities that create competitive advantage. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is recognized as a technical expert in laser processing and enjoys applying that expertise to real-world manufacturing challenges. Ideal candidates will have experience with technologies such as: Laser welding Laser cutting Laser marking Laser micromachining Precision laser processing Advanced manufacturing and automation technologies In addition, you should have: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 10+ years of experience in laser processing or related advanced manufacturing technologies. Experience developing manufacturing processes from concept through production. Experience supporting customer-facing projects, technical quotations, and capital equipment evaluations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, quality, and commercial teams. Experience in medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated industries is preferred. Why Cadence?
