•198233 FlexStaff is hiring an Opto-Mechanical Product Engineer for our client, an aerospace and industrial manufacturing company located in Deer Park, NY. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a motivated engineer to join a dynamic team focused on the design, development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement of precision optics products and systems. The ideal candidate will have a BS and/or MS in Opto-Mechanical Engineering along with 3+ years of experience in precision mechanical or opto-mechanical design and product development within a technical manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and engineering drawings is required, and SolidWorks experience is preferred.
What You'll Do:
+ Partner with senior engineering staff to learn existing optical systems, product designs, manufacturing methods, engineering practices, and technical history
+ Document critical knowledge and grow into technical ownership of assigned products
+ Design and develop mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies and systems
+ Conduct engineering analysis and create prototypes, CAD models, detailed drawings, BOMs, specifications, test requirements, and supporting technical documentation
+ Support existing products by troubleshooting production issues, implementing design changes, performing root-cause analysis, and driving manufacturing improvements
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Commercial, and other teams to support business priorities and customer needs
+ Share technical knowledge and best practices across sites to support global product engineering efforts
