Onsite Job Description Day to
Day Responsibilities:
Ø Work with a variety of cross functional groups (Development, Quality, IT, Purchasing, Operations) to define, develop and implement optical and computer vision-based measurement and instrumentation systems.
Ø Transfer technology from early-stage development to a product suitable for use in manufacturing.
Ø Leverage external suppliers for key technologies or core competencies such as system integration.
Ø Define Scopes of Work, competitively quote when appropriate, issue Purchase Orders, track supplier work and approve invoices.
Ø Design experiments and analyze data to identify and implement improvements to measurement systems or production processes.
Ø Create/update documentation for release to production including Machine Specifications, operating procedures and drawing packages.
Ø You will also be responsible for training engineering, maintenance and operations in how to use and maintain measurement systems.
Ø Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting using data and performance analysis of the installed systems.
Required Education & Experience:
BS, MS or PhD in Physics, Optics, ME, ECE or EE plus a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with machine vision metrology equipment.
Training or hands-on experience with vision systems is required.
Required Experience/Skills:
Ø 3 years of experience in Computer vision system development (optics, lighting, cameras, image acquisition, image analysis, laser, 3D measurement)
Ø Fundamental knowledge of physical optics (principles of optics)
Ø Knowledge of image processing algorithms (blob analysis, edge finding, morphology, feature extraction, classification, metrology)
Ø Microsoft Visual Studio programming (C# and Python strongly preferred)
Ø Experience with machine learning and AI technologies, including CNNs.
Ø Systems Engineering and integration
Ø Digital Signal Processing
Ø Experience with electrical/optical/mechanical installations, including system checkout and troubleshooting
Ø Strong communication and presentation skills (MS Office programs)
Ø Data retrieval, plotting and analysis (primarily using Microsoft Excel)
Desired Experience/Skills:
Ø Experience with image processing development packages such as Halcon, Matrox Inspector, NI Vision, Cognex, Keyence, or Matlab image processing toolbox
Ø Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Ø Control systems (PLCs)
Ø Process engineering knowledge. Experienced with design of experiments, statistical analysis and process improvement
Ø Experience with Metrology, Inspection and Product Quality in support of manufacturing
Ø Motion Control - ability to integrate motion on imaging platforms
Ø Computing - Familiar with high performance computing systems
