Job Description
CAD Drafter / Layout Engineer / Laser Nesting Programmer Howard Fabrication - Green Bay, WI Howard Fabrication is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Drafter / Layout Engineer / Laser Nesting Programmer to join our team full-time. In this role, you will be responsible for creating efficient part layouts for laser cutting and waterjet operations, maximizing material utilization while ensuring production schedules are met. You will work closely with project managers, production managers, and machine operators to support manufacturing operations and deliver quality products on time. Responsibilities Create and optimize part layouts (nesting) for laser cutting and waterjet equipment. Maximize material utilization while minimizing waste. Develop and modify CAD drawings for manufacturing. Collaborate with project managers, production managers, and operators to ensure production schedules are met. Review drawings and specifications for accuracy and manufacturability. Maintain organized programming files and documentation. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve programming and production efficiency. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years of experience in CAD drafting, laser programming, or a related manufacturing role. Proficiency with CAD, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks . Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
