ENSTAR Natural Gas is seeking an Engineer I to join our Engineering team. This position supports the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of natural gas distribution and transmission systems while providing engineering analysis, project management, and technical support.
What You Will Do:
Design and evaluate natural gas distribution and transmission facilities. Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Manage projects through planning, design, construction, and closeout. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders. Provide technical support to operations and maintenance personnel. Ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations. Support continuous improvement initiatives and long-term infrastructure planning.
What You Will Bring:
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management, staff, counsel, other departments, local entities, and the public; exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others in difficult circumstances or to resolve issues. Knowledge of engineering concepts and ability to perform related tasks. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to prepare clear and understandable written documentation and communication materials. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to evaluate data, compile statistics and prepare reports. Ability to effectively utilize current engineering technologies. Ability to interpret plans, civil, typographical, and other related maps. Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications p such as Solidworks, GIS and AutoCad. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations; detect unobvious facts and issues and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering Minimum of two to three years work experience preferred EIT designation PE License preferred Valid Alaska Driver's License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTAR's Driving Policy.
