Job Description
Are you an experienced Project Engineer with expertise in structured cabling, network infrastructure, and low-voltage systems? We are seeking a technical leader who can translate client requirements into practical, buildable solutions while supporting projects from assessment through implementation. This role combines engineering expertise, client interaction, project oversight, and technical leadership. You'll collaborate with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions while maintaining strong technical standards. Regular site visits are required, along with occasional overnight travel. Required Experience & Skills 7+ years of experience in structured cabling, network infrastructure, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems Experience performing site assessments and evaluating existing technology environments Strong understanding of structured cabling standards, best practices, and infrastructure design Experience reviewing technical drawings, construction documents, and project specifications Ability to develop scopes of work, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical recommendations Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders Strong project management and organizational skills Ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and provide practical solutions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Technical Knowledge Structured Cabling Systems Network Infrastructure Telecommunications Systems Low Voltage Design Construction Documentation Technical Drawings & Specifications Scope Development Vendor Management Project Lifecycle Management Infrastructure Assessments Computer Skills Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) Project management and collaboration software Ability to review technical documentation, drawings, and digital project files Technical Assessment & Solution Development Conduct onsite assessments and client discovery meetings Evaluate existing low-voltage environments and infrastructure Gather project requirements and develop practical technical solutions Create and review project scopes, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical recommendations Ensure solutions align with project goals, budgets, and industry standards Design Review & Validation Review designs, technical documents, and project scopes for accuracy and constructability Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and missing project requirements Validate proposed solutions with vendors and implementation partners Recommend improvements that support successful project delivery Project Delivery & Oversight Support project execution from planning through completion Resolve technical issues during project implementation Monitor field progress and ensure work aligns with approved scope Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders Participate in punch-list reviews and project closeout activities Technical Leadership Serve as a subject matter expert for low-voltage infrastructure projects Provide technical guidance to project teams and stakeholders Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations Support continuous improvement of engineering and delivery processes Contribute to expanding organizational technical capabilities and best practices Ready to take the lead on complex low-voltage and network infrastructure projects?
