Shift work and overtime may be required Job Summary Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced Stationary Engineer to support facility operations at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. The Stationary Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and monitoring of complex commercial mechanical systems. This position will provide shift leadership and oversee the proper operation of boilers, chillers, cogeneration systems, cooling towers, pumps, air handling equipment, compressors, controls, and related building systems. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical background, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to respond effectively to routine maintenance requirements and emergency situations. This position is covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA). An additional $5.42 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, is included for benefits and/or retirement. Major Responsibilities Lead and oversee assigned workforce activities during each shift in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. Conduct daily tours, inspections, and equipment checks throughout assigned facilities. Inspect mechanical rooms, boiler plant areas, and other designated facility locations. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical, electrical, and control system components.

Boilers Chillers Cogeneration systems Cooling towers Pumps Motors Air handling units Heat exchangers Expansion tanks Air compressors Fuel tanks and fuel systems Water chemistry systems Building control systems Perform and oversee corrective maintenance in accordance with established procedures and contract requirements. Operate system components within established procedures, operating parameters, and performance limitations. Monitor equipment operation and identify potential issues before they result in system failures. Receive and respond to customer service requests. Communicate completed work, unresolved problems, and significant issues to project leadership and customer representatives. Respond immediately to emergency situations and initiate established emergency operating procedures. Escalate emergencies to appropriate engineering, customer, and security personnel when required. Implement assigned operational, routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and support programs during each shift. Complete operating logs, maintenance records, service reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time. Maintain accountability for tools, spare parts, equipment, and materials. Coordinate with subcontractors, service providers, facility personnel, and other site staff during maintenance and repair activities. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other equipment required for mechanical maintenance. Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, building operations manuals, BAS control drawings, and technical documentation. Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshoot complex mechanical systems and controls. Optimize system performance and support compliance with applicable regulations and safety requirements. Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of field experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial mechanical systems. Minimum 3 years of experience working in healthcare facilities. Experience with large commercial mechanical systems and controls. Strong experience with boilers, chillers, and control systems. Experience with hot-water and steam boiler systems strongly preferred. Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems. Florida State Boiler Operator License OR military journeyman-level qualification (Level 5 or higher) documented on DD214. State and U.S. EPA-approved Universal Refrigeration Certification required to work on air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities. Ability to read and apply blueprints, specifications, BAS control drawings, and facility operating manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, contractors, and other site personnel. Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports, logs, and maintenance documentation. Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures associated with commercial facility maintenance. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. Ability to respond to emergency situations and work under pressure when necessary. Overtime may be required based on facility needs. Must be available to respond to emergency situations. Position requires daily facility tours and equipment inspections. Must be comfortable working around mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and industrial facility systems. Must follow all applicable safety requirements and established operating procedures.
