Power System Planning Engineer Location:
Juno Beach, FL Contract:
12 months
Pay Rate:
$31 per hour
Schedule:
Standard office hours, EST We are seeking an Entry-Level Power System Planning Engineer to support renewable energy and transmission projects in Juno Beach, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineering graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop experience in power systems, transmission planning, renewable energy and grid interconnection . Working alongside experienced engineers, you will support power system modeling and technical studies for solar, wind, battery energy storage and transmission projects while developing experience with industry-standard analysis tools including PSS/E, PSCAD, PSLF and Aspen . Key Responsibilities Collect engineering drawings, equipment datasheets and technical information required for power system modeling and studies. Review engineering inputs for accuracy and completeness before they are incorporated into technical studies. Maintain organized records of drawings, specifications, equipment information and project documentation. Track the progress of power system studies completed internally and by external consultants. Coordinate required information and data inputs to help studies remain on schedule. Assist with basic power flow, voltage and stability studies under the guidance of senior engineers. Support the development and validation of power system models for solar, wind and battery energy storage projects . Learn and apply power system analysis software including PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen and PSLF . Support transmission planning and grid interconnection activities. Assist with monitoring interconnection requirements and documenting potential project impacts. Participate in engineering meetings and technical discussions with support from senior team members. Contribute to the development of internal engineering tools and processes. Prepare draft technical reports, presentations and project communications for senior review. Perform other related engineering duties as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field. Interest in power systems, renewable energy, transmission planning and grid interconnection . Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability and willingness to learn power system analysis and modeling techniques. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced engineering environment. Technical Exposure Candidates do not need to be experts in every platform listed below. However, academic, internship or project exposure to power system analysis or any of the following would be beneficial:
