Systems Integration & Test Engineer Location :
Salina, Kansas (Onsite)
Employment Type :
Full-Time About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Systems Integration & Test Engineer to take technical ownership of integration, testing, validation, and troubleshooting for R&D projects on sprayers at our Salina facility. This multidisciplinary role involves regular hands-on work on agricultural machinery, operating test sprayers, and managing system complexity across sprayer integration (ISOBUS and CANbus), electrical systems, mechanics, hydraulics, communications, and user interfaces. While primary focus is on local integration, testing, and field validation, you will also provide secondary support to technical support teams and installation process improvements. Joining Greeneye's global R&D group, you will own the end-to-end local integration and field validation of technology on test site sprayers, ensuring robust performance under real-world operating conditions.
Responsibilities Systems Integration & Technical Ownership:
Serve as the primary technical contact and bridge between Greeneye's systems and internal sprayer platforms. Take technical ownership of complex integration projects involving electrical, communication, hydraulic, and mechanical aspects of the sprayer. Own the local integration lifecycle at the Salina site, collaborating closely with global R&D teams to bring new features and systems onto test sprayers.
Testing & Validation:
Design and execute comprehensive testing protocols for new components and systems, carrying out validation tests on full sprayers before deployment. Maintain a controlled, high-standard testing environment, including the development of testing infrastructure. Engage in hands-on field testing by operating and driving test sprayers in real-world conditions to validate integration and overall system performance. Support & Process Improvement (Secondary Focus): Provide technical support for the site's installation staff, ensuring issues on the assembly line receive R&D support. Provide Tier 3 technical support by conducting advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions for field issues, escalating to Tier 4 global R&D when necessary. Support manufacturing and installation improvement initiatives focused on enhancing quality, repeatability, and efficiency in assembly and installation processes.
Requirements Experience :
Hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, or agricultural equipment, with demonstrated success in system integration, field testing, and technical ownership.
Education & Background:
Degree in Ag Systems Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field. Equivalent "hands-on" expertise from a strong farming background or self-taught machine hacking is equally valued.
Technical Expertise :
Strong working knowledge of communication protocols including ISOBUS and CANbus, along with practical experience integrating electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Working familiarity with Linux/CLI environments.
System Validation & Troubleshooting :
Demonstrated troubleshooting ability and practical skill in running validation test protocols on machinery.
Culture & Work Ethic :
As the sole R&D representative on-site in Salina, the candidate needs to be highly independent, proactive, and self-driven in managing local integration tasks and communicating across teams.
